This is a blog about Christianity. It is a blog written by a Christian who hates how his faith is being misused in this election.
I picked the name from 2 Timothy 3
3 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
It saddens and sickens me that the nominee for the Republican Party fits this to a T. But more than that I am saddened that thousands of people claiming to follow the Lord of Lords. The Prince of Peace, our savior, our king are supporting this man who so obviously doesn’t love Christ and thinks he is a Christian because “the evangelicals love me”
I am an evangelical Christian. I do love him. He does not make it easy. But Jesus commands us to love our enemies. And yes I do consider Trump and the religious right my political and spiritual enemies but I want them to come to Christ and change and be productive members of His Kingdom.
Matthew 5
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor[i] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute
The religious right do not love their enemies. They show them nothing but contempt, they slander and they attack. Just watch the convention.
I am not writing this to show I am better than Him. I am not. I am a sinner saved by Grace who still struggles with sin. I am writing this as a warning and as a plea to my brothers and sisters in the religious right. I also want my writings to be comfort for my brothers and sisters who feel the same way I do.
You are not alone. This blog will show using scripture why no follower of Jesus Christ should support Trump for president.
