My name is Max Blaska. I am an evangelical Christian who lives in Madison WI. I saw your interview with David Brody and I needed to speak out.
As a Christian, I value truth over lies. I value love over hate. I value hope over fear. This man does not.
I saw the press conference and I was appalled. It was filled hate and lies. And easily provable lies like the electoral college lie. David Brody shrugged it off saying “Donald’s Truth is Donald’s Truth”.
Truth is truth. There is only one truth. We as Christians believe that. Lying and slander are sins. But in the age of alternative facts many Christians don’t realize that anymore. He also said that if more of these easily proven lies pile up, that Trump will lose support with independent swing voters.
He basically said that Christians would still be ok with Trump. I used to be an agnostic. I used to believe that Christianity was a hypocritical faith that did more harm than good. I know longer thing that.
But I think of atheists, agnostics, and seekers who watched that interview and how David Brody’s comments advance that narrative. There are thousands of Christians just like me who are getting mobilized. Who hate what is going on. We will stand up for truth. We will stand up for mothers who are ripped from their family’s arms for the only sin of being undocumented.
People like David Brody say that they speak for the evangelical Christian. They do no. Evangelical means “good news”. It is the good news that we have a God who loves us and sacrificed all for us. There is no good news in supporting Trump. Trump is nothing but bad news.
