For my regular readers who are looking forward to my next Christmas blog, it will come. But 2TimothyTrump is primarily a blog about politics and religion and I would be amiss if I didn’t discuss President Trump and his scorched earth policy when it comes to democracy.
I know the term “Army of Fools” might be quite inflammatory. I am not speaking about those who voted for President Trump thinking he was the lesser of two evils and have accepted that he lost. I am talking about the clown car of lawyers, the cowardly Republican senators who have refused to stand up to Trump, and his death cult of followers who have believed every lie that has come out of our lame duck president’s mouth. These people are not only fools but dangerous fools who undermining democracy and this could lead to violence.

Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, and Joe DiGenova are three of the most dangerous people in this army. They are Trump’s generals in his war against democracy. And Mr. DiGenova crossed the line when he said that fired head of election security Chris Krebs should be “Taken out at dawn and shot.” How long before some Crazy Qanon MAGA head might take to violence to fight this “stolen election”?
There is no evidence of widespread fraud. There may have been some irregularities and managing mail in voting during a massive pandemic was a huge undertaking but no reasonable person believes that there was massive systematic fraud that could overturn a state’s electoral votes.
Yet the lawsuits still come even though almost every one has been laughed out of court. Right now one of Trump’s lackey lawyers Jim Troupis is trying to get absentee and early in person votes thrown out in my state of Wisconsin. This would include his vote as well as mine. I hope my state’s Supreme Court that has a conservative majority will follow Pennsylvania’s example.
This is where it gets crazy. For this widespread fraud to have occurred, conservative politicians have to be in on it. Governor Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger have been attacked and Raffensperger has been getting death threats. He is a Republican who voted for Trump and because he is following the law, he is attacked. And Newt Gingrich another Trump fool said that Brian Kemp was a subsidiary of far left Georgian politician Stacey Abrams. Kemp almost lost to Abrams for his last election. Why would they be working together. IT MAKES NO SENSE!
And you get to the religious leaders who are still praying somehow that Trump will still pull it off. I will cover them in a separate blog.

This is where I come to Jonah Goldberg. I hate to say this as Christian but I have hated him. I am not proud of that. I have a more progressive bent. Not the new progressives of “Cancel culture”, the tearing down statues of abolitionists, and those that want to defund the police. I consider myself a progressive of the William James Bryan, Teddy Roosevelt, and Fighting Bob Lafollette school. A belief that a just government takes care of it’s weakest members. Not this dog eat dog social Darwinism that have become conservative economic thought. I don’t think it is a coincidence that both Karl Marx and Ayn Rand were atheists. One philosophy makes the collective god, the other makes the individual god.
But over the last four years i have grown a respect for Jonah Goldberg. He didn’t drink the Trump flavor-aid. He came up with the quote “Trump is stealing the election by claiming the other side is stealing the election”. Watching him debate Mollie Hemingway from the Federalist Society on Brett Baier’s Special Report on Fox News is a delight. She never quite answers the question and never admits that what President Trump is doing is wrong and is damaging the nation.

Mr. Goldberg, I know I am nobody but a struggling blogger. But I wanted to apologize for holding hate in my heart for you. I still disagree with you on politics and economics but I respect you. And to be honest, I only read the first couple pages of Liberal Fascism. I got so upset I couldn’t read anymore. But with the new left and their “I want it all” mentality making them almost as bad as the mindless fools who are still supporting Trump. I am thinking about picking the book up and reading it all the way through.
Again we disagree on a lot. I think Trump is one of the only issues we agree on. But one thing is for sure. Jonah Goldberg, you are no fool.
