By their fruits you should know them. It is a month after the election and Trump is picking his cabinet. I would like to say I am surprised but I am not.
How any person claiming to be a Christian can still support him I will never understand. God tells us very clearly that you can discern people by their fruits. Let’s look at the fruit of the cabinet picks so far.
Congressman Tom Price for Health and Human Services. This man claims to be pro-life but as a congressman he has shown himself to be anti-abortion but not pro-life. He voted many times against the Children’s Health insurance program. He was for letting sick children die of treatable pre-existing conditions. That is not being pro-life. That is just being anti-abortion. But even worse than that he voted against bill HR 347. That was to fund programs to fight infant mortality.
Let that sink in for a second. If those programs could save infant lives, he would prefer those infants to die. This is the man who Trump picked as his secretary of Heath and Human Services.
He is for gutting Obamacare. It has it’s faults. It is not a perfect bill. But he wants to replace it with tax vouchers. The working poor who need this program to keep their families healthy pay less. You may say that I am being unfair to him by saying that he wants poor sick children to die. He is not some monster gleefully saying “today I am going to make some children die.” I am not saying that. What I am saying is that what he is doing is worse. It is closing your eyes to the pain and the suffering of the working poor and middle class that have family members with serious medical conditions. It is being the sinful priest or Levite than walked away from the victim of bandits at the side of the road.
We can’t have a man who has such callous disregard for the life of those who have been helped by CHIP and by Obamacare to head up the health and human service department.
